Fibre PhotonicsFibre Photonics Ltd was established in October 2006, and is based in Livingston, Central Scotland. We specialise in the development and manufacture of fibre optic based spectrometer probes and systems operating from the visible, through to the mid infrared.

Our product range offers the opportunity to perform real time, in situ, reagent free mid infrared MIR (3-18 microns) ATR spectroscopy, during the development and production of fine chemicals, biopharmaceuticals, and food & drink products.

  • Fibre Photonics Ltd was incorporated.
  • Dec 2006
  • Delivered first Mid Infrared Diamond ATR Probe and quickly established a world-wide customer base.
  • Oct 2007
  • Established assembly of mid infrared fibre optics.
  • Oct 2007
  • Commenced a Fibre Optic Development Programme with EADS Astrium for the European Space Agency, Darwin Programme.
  • Feb 2008
  • Launched a new miniature 3mm Diameter ATR Probe.
  • May 2008
  • Fibre Photonics delivered its 1000th Mid Infrared Fibre Optic Cable.
  • July 2008
  • Extruded first Silver Halide Multi Mode Fibres in Livingston, Scotland.
  • Aug 2008
  • Fibre Photonics joined CPACT (The Centre for Process Analytics and Control Technology).
  • Oct 2008
  • Awarded the first SPIRIT Studentship Programme, in partnership with University of Strathclyde Chemistry Department.
  • Nov 2008
  • Dr Des Gibson appointed as non executive director of Fibre Photonics.
  • Jan 2009
  • Commercial and collaborative agreement with J & M Analytik AG.
  • Nov 2010
  • Fibre Photonics wins High Growth & Innovation Award from West Lothian Chamber of Commerce.
