Fibre optic cables and pigtails are of critical importance for the photonics industry and provide a flexible mechanism for light delivery or light detection applications.

Fibre Photonics offer high-performance, high-quality specialty optical fibres covering the UV (180nm) to the Mid Infrared (18mm) for applications that include industrial manufacturing, military, environmental sensing, and space applications.

In addition to our range of standard products, our fibre optic cables can even be customised to meet the needs of the research & development environment where tapered fibres, novel coupling and mixed bundles are often required.


UV/VIS/NIR (180 – 2500nm) Silica fibre, speciality fibre and photonic crystal fibre cables with a range of diameters and NAs are available with a variety of polymer and metal coatings. Innovative high power connectors can be selected for laser power delivery from diode laser modules and high power industrial lasers.

IR/NIR (1.5 – 6.0mm) In the near infrared, Germanium Oxide, Fluoride Glass and Chalcogenide infrared (CIR) fibre cables have optical transmission to match the output from LEDs and solid state infrared lasers including ER:YAG, Quantum Cascade, Disk, VCSEL and VECSEL types.

NIR /MIR (3.0 – 18.0mm) In the mid infrared, our chalcogenide infrared (CIR) and silver halide polycrystalline infrared (PIR) fibre optic cables are suitable for coupling to black body sources, LEDs, gas lasers and solid state infrared lasers including Quantum Cascade, Disk, VCSEL and VECSEL types.
